Privacy policy

1. Who processes your data

The data controller is Gabriel Zarojanu, through the individual psychology practice (the “Practice”). For questions about personal data, you may contact me at:

  • email: contact@psihologzarojanugabriel.ro;
  • telephone: +40 741 973 021;
  • professional address: Habitat Building, 4 Carol I Boulevard, Copou, Iași, Romania.

This policy concerns use of the website and initial contact. It does not replace the information and documents specific to the professional relationship, which are provided separately before services begin.

2. Data that may be processed

Depending on how you use the website, the following may be processed:

  • your name and the contact details you provide;
  • information needed to respond to an enquiry or arrange an appointment;
  • the contents of messages sent by email, telephone or WhatsApp;
  • technical security and operational data, such as IP address, device type, browser and access time, insofar as these are recorded by the hosting provider.

Messages may inadvertently reveal health information. Please do not send diagnoses, medical documents or detailed clinical descriptions by email or WhatsApp. Contact details and brief administrative information are sufficient to arrange an appointment.

3. Purposes and legal bases

  • responding to enquiries and arranging appointments — steps taken at your request before a service is provided;
  • administrative communication and service provision — performance of the professional relationship;
  • compliance with legal and professional obligations applicable to the Practice;
  • protecting the website and preventing misuse — legitimate interest in the security of the digital infrastructure.

Health data and other special categories of data are processed only where necessary and under the conditions set out in Article 9 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679, with due regard to confidentiality and professional secrecy.

4. Who may receive the data

Data is not sold or used for advertising. Where necessary for the operation of the services, it may be processed by website and email hosting providers, Gmail used to manage correspondence and, if you choose this channel, WhatsApp/Meta. These providers process data under their own terms and policies.

Data may also be disclosed to public authorities or other recipients where required by law or necessary to protect rights and legitimate interests within the limits of the law.

5. Transfers outside the European Economic Area

Some technology providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. In such cases, transfers are made using mechanisms recognised by European law, according to the information and safeguards provided by the relevant supplier.

6. Retention periods

Enquiries that do not lead to a professional relationship are retained only as long as needed to respond and follow up, generally no longer than 12 months after the last interaction. Data relating to services is retained for the applicable legal and professional periods. Technical logs are kept for the period set by the hosting provider, limited to security and operational needs.

7. Cookies and external services

The website does not currently use analytics, profiling or advertising tools and does not set optional cookies for these purposes. The hosting provider may use elements strictly necessary for security, operation and access control.

WhatsApp and Google Maps links open external services only when you choose to access them. If embedded maps, analytics or other optional technologies are added later, this policy will be updated and, where required by law, consent will be requested before activation.

8. Your rights

Subject to the conditions laid down by law, you may request access, rectification, erasure or restriction, data portability, and object to certain processing. Where processing is based on consent, it may be withdrawn for the future without affecting prior processing.

To exercise your rights, write to contact@psihologzarojanugabriel.ro. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Romanian National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing.

9. Security and communication-channel limits

Reasonable technical and organisational measures are used to protect data. However, no internet transmission can be guaranteed to be entirely risk-free. Email and WhatsApp are recommended for appointments and administrative information, not for emergencies or sensitive documents.

10. Policy updates

This policy may be amended when the website, the services used or legal requirements change. The current version and its last-update date are published on this page.
